Strategy finalised in September 2001. Status in Commission is a Staff Working Paper. Will be an annex to Communication on Fighting Rural Poverty.

DG Research has agreed to continue hosting EIARD Secretariat. Dr PE Harding recruited as new Executive Secretary wef 1 January 2002.
