Activities and achievements

EIARD activities

EIARD follows four main areas of activities as outlined in the EIARD strategy 2009-2013. Recent achievements are detailed in the Annual Report

  1. Coordination of European ARD policies in pursuit of the MDGs

  2. Coordination of European investments in CGIAR

  3. Coordination of European investments in strengthening ARD organisations at global, continental and sub-continental levels, especially in Africa

  4. Coordination of European investments in ARD and investments in rural development in the pursuit of the MDGs
Two major events have also marked EIARD activities during 2009/2010:
  1. The implementation of a radical reform of the CGIAR. EIARD has been playing a key role in this process: participating, contributing and financially supporting the GCARD (Global Conference on Agricultural Research for Development) process (see Annual Report for more details).
  2. Launch of thematic studies and policy briefs to provide evidence on ARD and increase donor's alignment (see Thematic Studies for more details).
